7.13 Enhancements to Johnson-Cook strain rate dependence

Products: Abaqus/Standard  Abaqus/Explicit  Abaqus/CAE

Benefits: You can now define Johnson-Cook strain rate dependence for the isotropic hardening metal plasticity and extended Drucker-Prager plasticity models.

Description: In previous releases of Abaqus/Standard neither Johnson-Cook hardening nor Johnson-Cook strain rate dependence was available. In addition, in previous releases of Abaqus/Explicit, the Johnson-Cook strain rate dependence model was available only in conjunction with the Johnson-Cook hardening model. In both Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit, Johnson-Cook rate dependence can now be used in conjunction with the isotropic hardening metal plasticity and extended Drucker-Prager plasticity models.
