Benefits: You can now specify temperature and/or field-dependent Rayleigh mass proportional and stiffness proportional damping for all materials in Abaqus/Explicit. Mass proportional damping is now allowed for ROTARYI and MASS elements in Abaqus/Explicit, which was previously supported only in Abaqus/Standard.
Description: Abaqus/Explicit now allows you to define Rayleigh mass proportional and stiffness proportional damping as a tabular function of temperature and/or field variables. In addition, mass proportional damping is now allowed for ROTARYI and MASS elements in Abaqus/Explicit and can be specified in Abaqus/CAE. This functionality was previously supported only in Abaqus/Standard.
