2.6 Searchable upgrade and conversion log files in Abaqus/CAE

Benefits: You can now search the contents of log files directly within Abaqus/CAE. This enhancement enables you to find errors and warnings more easily when you upgrade an Abaqus/CAE model database or import a NASTRAN bulk data file into Abaqus.

Description: Abaqus/CAE now includes a Search Text frame in dialog boxes that display the log file from a model database upgrade or from the conversion of a NASTRAN bulk data file into Abaqus. Figure 2–3 shows a sample search of a NASTRAN import log file.

Textual searching is flexible: you can search for matching text that appears before or after the current cursor position, and you can search for text that matches the case of your search string exactly.

Abaqus/CAE Usage:

All modules:
    FileOpen: select model database (.cae) file: click Yes to upgrade model database:
    toggle on View the conversion log file and click OK
    FileImportModel: select NASTRAN bulk data file: click OK: 
    toggle on View the translation log file and click OK
