2.9 Improvements to usability and performance for color coding

Product: Abaqus/CAE

Benefits: Abaqus/CAE now displays color-coded edges with a thicker line that is easier to distinguish from the surrounding geometry when you use the shaded render mode. This enhancement improves the usability of the color coding toolset. In addition, color coding is now faster for assemblies with many part instances.

Description: Abaqus/CAE now applies color coding to edges by displaying them with a thicker line that is easier to distinguish from the surrounding geometry when you use the shaded render mode. Previously, these lines were rendered with their default thickness and color, so you could view their color coding only by switching to wireframe render mode. This enhancement is particularly helpful if you have a model in which many loads or boundary conditions are applied to sets that include one or more edges. When you color code by load or boundary condition, Abaqus/CAE colors the relevant edges with a thick line to help them stand out against the shaded geometry. In addition, Abaqus/CAE performs color coding more quickly for assemblies with many part instances.
