3.3 Setting default memory allocation values in Abaqus/CAE

Product: Abaqus/CAE

Benefits: You can now use the memory requirements that Abaqus determines for your job during a data check analysis or during an earlier analysis run as the default memory allocation setting for the job. Abaqus/CAE will allocate this amount of memory by default for all future analysis runs of the job or for a continuation of the job after a data check analysis.

Description: Abaqus determines the memory allocation for a job during the data check portion of an analysis. You can use this value as the default memory allocation for all future analyses of the job or for a continuation of the job after a data check analysis. If you toggle on the new Increase memory allocation based on analysis estimates option in the Memory tabbed page of the Edit Job dialog box, Abaqus/CAE will allocate this amount of memory, plus a buffer value, for this analysis upon your next run of the job.

The Increase memory allocation based on analysis estimates option does not affect memory allocation values for adaptivity analyses. Abaqus still allocates memory to adaptivity analyses by estimating the memory required to analyze the finest mesh in the model.
