Product: Abaqus/CAE
Benefits: You can now suppress more model attributes to temporarily exclude them from the model than in previous releases. This enhancement provides more flexibility for complex models and a more efficient use of different model configurations.
Description: Suppression of model attributes was previously limited to step-dependent attributes, constraints, and section assignments. Abaqus/CAE now enables you to suppress the following additional attributes:
Material orientations
Steps
Connector section assignments
Fasteners
Cracks
Inertia
Springs and dashpots
Load cases
The step suppression functionality allows you greater analysis flexibility in your model. A suppressed step is removed from the context bar, the restart request dialog box, and the diagnostic print dialog box. Any attributes created in the step are ignored during the analysis. When you resume a step, Abaqus/CAE will maintain the original suppress or resume status of any suppressible attribute. With the ability to suppress steps, you can now include different types of analyses in one model (for example, Abaqus/Standard procedures and Abaqus/Explicit procedures in the same model).
