8.1 New general-purpose tetrahedron with improved surface stress visualization

Benefits: The new C3D10I general-purpose 10-node element has outstanding bending performance and improved surface stress visualization.

Description: A new tetrahedron has been developed for outstanding bending results—even for coarse meshes—while avoiding pressure locking in metal plasticity and quasi-incompressible and incompressible rubber elasticity. The new visualization scheme improves surface stress visualization, avoiding errors due to the extrapolation of stress components from the integration points to the nodes.
