9.1 Eulerian boundaries

Product: Abaqus/Explicit

Benefits: You can now define independent inflow and outflow conditions at an Eulerian mesh boundary.

Description: When a finite Eulerian mesh is used to simulate an infinite domain, spurious wave reflection might occur at the mesh boundaries. You can now define an Eulerian boundary to reduce the reflection. You can also specify various inflow and outflow conditions at the Eulerian boundaries to control the material flux at the Eulerian mesh boundaries. You can specify void inflow so that no material can flow into the mesh, and you can eliminate oscillations near the mesh boundary by constraining the nodal displacement in the normal direction. An outflow condition allows you to prescribe a “do-nothing” condition at the outlet in flow problems.
